To show vacuum tools

We are officially in Spring Season. Longer days, sunshine, and Spring Cleaning! Time to open the windows, release the musty smell of winter air. Where to start? A loaded question. House cleaning is a big challenge for many homeowners. It is a daunting, time-consuming, and a huge undertaking.

But on a positive note, Spring Cleaning can help you destress. How you start can help if you plan ahead. Set a date. Gather all the cleaning supplies and tools you need. Follow a cleaning professional’s process. Clean your home room by room. You can start cleaning the closet first if you choose your master bedroom to start. The most closet becomes cluttered during the winter season. Heavy winter clothes need to be put away, replace by Spring season clothing. An organized, the decluttered closet is a great start because you see your closet each time you change your clothes. Start by removing the winter clothes. Use the vacuum wand to vacuum top to bottom left to right. This process will save you time. Next, use damp microfiber to wipe anything that the vacuum cannot reach or do. Donate winter clothes that you did not wear last winter or not planning to wear anymore.

Next, set your eyes on your bathroom. The same process, cleaning from top to bottom. Again here, we will use the vacuum first. Remove the clutters, use the vacuum wand to vacuum top to bottom all areas of the bathroom including inside of the shower (vacuum if the shower is dry) this way will save time by removing the hair and small debris that will give you a headache when you are trying to clean the floors. (hairs get stuck on wet floors). Now the fun part of cleaning the bathroom begins. Start by spraying the shower walls and floors with a cleaning solution (mix 1/3 cup bleach with 1 gallon of water put it in a spray bottle). The mixture of bleach and water will disinfect your shower and will help with the cleaning process. Leave the shower. Let the cleaning solution work. Do the same process with the toilet, the top all the way to the bottom stand.

While the two wet areas are being prepared, start cleaning the tub. Use a small bucket or container for pouring water. Here we are using the ever-reliable kitchen dish soap. Pour a few drops of soap in the small container/bucket, add warm water. Scrub the tub walls including the floors. Use the bleach water solution for stubborn soap scum. Use warm water to rinse the tub. Dry with a cleaning towel. Back to the shower, use the same process to clean the shower walls and floor, let the air dry. Clean the toiletries as shampoo and body wash before placing them back inside the shower.

In the toilet, start from the top, the water tank. The bleach and water solution you sprayed, in the beginning, have disinfected the toilet already. We are now going to clean the toilet using warm water with few drops of dish soap. Use the sponge to wipe clean from top to bottom including behind the toilet. Clean the toilet under the rim, flush and dry the toilet with clean towels.

Follow up, the vanity and mirror. Clear the countertop. Remove everything, set aside. Start with the mirror. Use store-bought glass cleaner or homemade warm water with few drops of dish soap. Either way, you will still use elbow grease to clean the mirror. The store-bought glass cleaner may be easier but it will not thoroughly clean the glass the way the wet, rinse and dry process works. Wet the mirror thoroughly with dish soap and warm water solution, rinse with a damp microfiber cleaning towel, repeat with a dry cleaning towel. Do the same process on the vanity, sink, and faucet. Clean the cosmetics, comb, and other things before placing them back on the vanity.

Last is the bathroom floors. Fresh clean water with bleach mixture for disinfecting and cleaning the floors (please make sure not to let the solution sits on the floor longer than the label of the product suggested if your floor is marble). Always, read the product label before using it. I highly recommend wiping the baseboards before mopping.  Use multiple microfiber mopheads to mop the bathrooms. When mopping the bathroom, always start from the farthest area to avoid stepping on the wet floors.

Finally, the master bedroom. As always, the cleaning must start from top to bottom. Start with the vacuum wand going from the left corner to the right corner top and bottom. This way you are covering the walls and baseboards where the dust bunnies and cobweb are nestings. The vacuum wand again is a great tool here. You will save yourself from inhaling the dust. If there is blinds and window sills vacuum in the windows too. Once the vacuuming is done, use the damp microfiber cleaning towel to wipe clean the windows, windowsill, baseboards, knick-knacks, and all horizontal surfaces including the walls behind the bed. The last task is to vacuum the floors if hardwood floors mop to finish.

This step-by-step deep cleaning of the master bedroom is time-consuming. I suggest setting aside a day just for this room. House Cleaning is hard, time-consuming, and boring. But you can make the process easy by preparing the necessary supplies and tools along with happy thoughts that after deep cleaning your master bedroom, you will feel so much better.
