School is out. Children are bored. How about a picnic? Here in Cherokee County, there are plenty of places to hang out and have a fun picnic. We have Olde Rope Mill Park and Woofstock Dog Park in Woodstock, Etowah River Park in Canton, Hickory Trails Park in Holly Springs and many more easily accessible parks with plenty of parking spaces and entrance FREE!

What makes picnic super fun is eating outdoors. Its summer there’s an abundance of fruits and fresh vegetables. Make a list of the foods the children will enjoy with minimal mess. Like, bite-size watermelon, grapes, apples, cherries, plum, and peach. These fruits can be prepared the night before. I like putting the fruits in individual containers for each child to easily access. Same preparation with vegetables like carrots and celery.

Let us not forget the sandwiches. We bring the old-time favorites like peanut butter and jelly, cucumber and egg sandwich. I usually separate the peanut butter to jelly instead of the usual traditional peanut butter jelly combo. I like making the cut in triangles and bite-size to make it look appealing and easy to hold. My children love are seeing the little sandwiches. Sometimes, it’s in the presentation that makes the difference.

This time of year, the summer heat is in full swing. Make sure to bring plenty of water and for flavor make homemade fruit-flavored water. Few slices of summer fruits will have plenty of flavors and will add colors and vitamins to the water.

Remember to bring blankets, coolers, sunblock, hats, board games, frisbees, plates, utensils, reusable napkins, cups, kitchen towels for anything accidental spilled, an extra reusable bag for dirty used essential. Noticed I did not mention plastic utensils or plates? Simply, trying to lessen the use of plastics and other none recycle materials. Which, in turn, served two purposes; to help the environment and money from buying the same things all over again.

For children, a picnic is playing outdoors. Why not make it fun and memorable? Planning and preparation will help. Summer is here. The parks are nearby. Go out enjoy the wonderful sites. Let the children play and feel the glorious heat of the sun.

Meanwhile, let our professional house cleaners clean your home while you are out in the picnic. You make memories, we clean your home for you. Simply, come home to a freshly clean home.
